First ever quote of the day at All Things Good

"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." Ralph Waldo Emerson.

(We have had quotes before but not on a regular basis. Due to popular opinion we will try and post them daily. Let's see how we go. All the quotes will be positive - well at least in my opinion!)

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 – 1882) was a writer and poet.  He led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century. He believed in the moral worth of each individual and had many published essays and more than 1,500 public lectures across the United States.

  4. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote a poem that became my mother's favorite when she was a high school student. Good idea that there's a blog I can visit to see great quotes from great people. You will find it for us. Hehe. Good morning, my friend.
